Independence & ownership

Asianomist is owned by Asia Press Centre Group (APCG), a Singapore-headquartered media network. We disclose that ownership here and wherever it is relevant to a story. Ownership does not direct our coverage, and neither do advertisers. Commercial relationships — advertising, sponsorship, events, awards — are handled by a separate commercial team. No advertiser or partner sees editorial content before publication, chooses what we cover, or removes what we have published. Where we report on APCG, its titles or its commercial partners, we say so in the piece.

Accuracy with financial data

A wrong number in financial news is worse than no news. Every figure we publish — rates, prices, results, forecasts — is checked against a primary source before publication: central-bank statements, exchange data, regulatory filings, company disclosures and official statistics. Figures carry their source and a point of comparison, because “up 4.2%” means little without “the fastest since 2022”. Market data is time-stamped where timing matters. When sources conflict, we say so rather than pick silently.

What we cover — and what we don’t

Asianomist covers economics, markets and business. We do not publish coverage of elections or domestic politics, territorial or security disputes, or assessments of political systems and leaders — in any country, in any format. Where policy affects business — tariffs, export controls, rate decisions, trade agreements — we report the change, its measurable impact on costs, supply chains and capital flows, and how companies and investors are responding. We do not speculate about political motives and we do not assign blame between countries. If a story cannot be told through its business impact, we do not tell it.

Not investment advice

We report and analyse markets; we do not advise on them. Nothing on Asianomist is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, currency or other asset, and no article accounts for any reader’s circumstances. Where our writers hold positions relevant to what they write, they disclose them to their editor, and we disclose them to readers where material.

Corrections

We correct errors quickly and visibly. Material errors are corrected in the article itself, with a note stating what changed and when. Corrections to market-sensitive figures are made as soon as they are confirmed, whatever the hour. Minor typographical fixes that do not alter meaning are made without annotation. We do not quietly delete mistakes. If you believe we have published an error, write to editorial@asianomist.com with a link to the article; corrections are read before all other correspondence.

Clear labelling of commercial content

Three labels mark commercial content on this site, and their meanings are fixed. “Sponsored” is content paid for by an advertiser and produced to the advertiser’s brief, approved by them before publication. “Partner Content” is produced by our studio with, and paid for by, a commercial partner: the partner has input, our team writes and produces it to our standards. “Press Release” is an announcement supplied by an organisation and published in full, without editorial rewriting, in the Press Room only.

These labels appear on the article page and wherever the piece is promoted on our site. Commercial content never appears in editorial streams unlabelled. Inclusion in editorial coverage is never for sale: no payment, at any price, buys a news story, a market call or a place in an explainer. Opinion pieces carry the additional label “Opinion”.

How our briefs are produced

Most of what you read here — the daily briefs in Markets, Economies, Industries and Banking & Fintech — is drafted by AI from a named primary source, then put through an automated editorial review before it reaches you. That review is not a formality. Each draft is scored against this masthead’s standards, checked for whether every figure is supported by the source it cites, and held back when it is not. Drafts that fall short are rewritten once and re-examined; those that still fall short are never published. A large share of what our system drafts never appears on this site.

We are telling you this plainly because the alternative — implying a newsroom of reporters where there is a pipeline — would be the first thing we got wrong. Columns, explainers and anything carrying an individual’s byline are written by people. Everything else carries the Asianomist Desk byline, and that byline means exactly what is described here.

What this process cannot do is judge a source’s motives, notice what a source left out, or ring the person the number came from. That is why we publish our corrections policy above it, why every brief links the source it was built from, and why we would rather you tell us we got something wrong than not know. We do not present AI-generated images as photographs.

Bylines & authorship

Work written by a person carries that person’s byline — columns, explainers and any piece where someone made the calls and did the reporting. The daily briefs carry “Asianomist Desk”, and that is not a way of hiding a name: it means the piece was produced by the process described above, and that the masthead, not an individual, answers for it. Bylines are never attached to commercial content — Sponsored and Partner Content pieces are credited to the studio or the partner, not to our journalists.
