Tribe Payments Names New APAC Sales Head

Tribe Payments has appointed Alex Lim as its Head of Sales and Solutions for Asia-Pacific. The company announced Lim will lead regional expansion efforts from Singapore. He will report to Matt Weir, Tribe Payments’ General Manager for APAC. Lim's focus will include business development, strategic partnerships, and solution design across the region.

Lim Brings Extensive Payments Experience

Lim transitions from Pure Commerce, a company under Euronet Worldwide, where he served as General Manager of Merchant Services for APAC. He brings 13 years of experience in the payments sector, covering sales, partnerships, and product development. At Pure Commerce, Lim previously managed business development and solution design across the Asia-Pacific market.

Regional Expansion Strategy

Tribe Payments is expanding its operations in the region. The company established an office in Singapore in 2024 to support its existing client base, cultivate new partnerships, and grow its overall Asia-Pacific business.

Tribe Payments offers issuer and acquirer processing services to fintechs and banks, supporting both card and non-card payment environments through its modular, API-first architecture.

Why it matters

This appointment signals Tribe Payments’ continued commitment to the diverse and complex Asia-Pacific payments market. For fintechs and banks in the region, this could mean increased competition and new options for payment processing infrastructure.

Companies seeking modular issuer and acquirer services may find new partnership avenues as Tribe Payments expands its regional footprint from its 2024 Singapore base.
